In this episode, Alan and Paul discuss Star Trek: The Motion Picture, released in 1979. The film’s origins included an earlier concept, Star Trek: The God Thing, which evolved through various changes in production plans, eventually repurposing a Phase II pilot script into the feature film when Paramount pivoted on its TV network strategy.
