Luc Besson’s stylish take on the future is based on the work of French comic book artists Jean ‘Moebius’ Giraud, who worked on the film “Heavy Metal,” and Jean-Claude Mézières, creator of the comic “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,” which Besson later adapted to film.
